About Me!
The work I create is an exploration of color and materials. Combining multiple craft techniques like ceramics, stop-motion, embroidery, knitting, painting, etc. allows the work to develop its world and create continuity between projects. The characters I fabricate are a fusion of different ideas and mediums, resulting in something fresh yet familiar, echoing recognizable elements.
Growing up, my siblings and I would dream up worlds and bring characters to life from our imagination - a passion I’ve carried into my adult life, now elevated through stop-motion animation and other techniques.
In my artwork, I strive to evoke emotions that transcend sorrow or sadness. This intention is evident in my stop-motion short film, “to my mom,” where love and longing coexist, and a sense of melancholy is tenderly embraced. This passion for exploring other emotions besides sadness is one that comes from the love and care I have for my family, who are a constant encouraging force.
I’m currently working towards a BFA with a focus in stop motion production, sculpture, and textile work!
